January is Mental Wellness Month

January is Mental Wellness Month--a time to focus on our own mental wellness, those with mental illness, and the care-givers of those with mental illness.  The care-gviers of those with Alzheimer's disease, for example, have a 24/7 job.  Emmy-award winning actress Linda Dano describes her experience caring for her late father, who had Alzheimer's.

Linda, how did you and your mother cope with your dad's illness?

It was enormously difficult for my mother and I to see my father deteriorate the way he did.  The strain was different for my mother and me.  I went right to food, gained 50 pounds, and my mother went every date to see my father. . And I could see HER starting to go under.

Linda, what resources are available for those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer's disease?

I'm offering everyone for free a care givers' survival kit.  Call 1-877-439-3566 or go to the web site NFCA Cares.org or mine, LindaDano.com.  It's a kit, it's free, GET IT!
