DrDonnica.com Launches Clinical Trials Listing
3/6/02 (Branchburg, NJ): As a long-time advocate of the increased participation of women in clinical trials, DrDonnica.com has launched a new Clinical Trials Center. This Clinical Trials Center includes general information about clinical trials participation, and now lists specific on-going clinical trials looking to recruit women. "This is important to reach women who may not have previously considered participating in clinical trials," said Donnica Moore, MD, founder and president of DrDonnica.com. "There are other websites that list clinical trials, but a woman has to have already consider being in a clinical trial to consider accessing those sites. Women are coming to DrDonnica.com for general women's health information; now they can learn about clinical trials as well".
The first study listed evaluates an investigational new medication that may
relieve hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia and mood swings. Women in the United
States, ages 40-70 who have not had a period for at least 12 months and who
still have their uterus are eligible. Over 1 year, participants will get free
medical visits and study medication, as well as free mammograms and Pap smears.

Articles in the Clinical Trials Center discuss everything from the basics
of participating in clinical trials to giving women a check-list of questions
to ask their doctors about being in a clinical trial. Other highlights include
"Dr. Donnica's Decisionnaire" to help women decide if they should be in a clinical
trial, and a Guest Experts Column on women and clinical trials from Phyllis
Greenberger, the President of the Society for Women's Health Research. DrDonnica.com
is a multimedia women's health information website launched in 2000 and hosted
by founder Donnica Moore, MD, a well-known women's health advocate and communicator.
