Implants and Breast Feeding
Q: Can women breastfeed if they have breast implants?
Dr. Donnica: While women are generally advised that breast implant surgery
does not interfere with a woman's ability to breastfeed, some women who have
had implants through a periareolar incision have subsequently had difficulties
nursing. There is no substantive data to support any fears that women with silicone
implants pass on any "toxins" from their breasts to their breastfed children.
