Michael Badalucco plays "Jimmy" on the hit ABC series,
"The Practice." As an actor, Michael's efforts to maintain a healthy diet
often compete with his demanding schedule. He knows all about the difficulties
of battling weight gain. As spokesperson for the Mission ControlSM Meridia©
program, Michael advocates healthy lifestyle changes and education about
Obesity is a national epidemic. More than 97 million Americans -- that is 55
percent of the U.S. population -- are overweight. I know first-hand that battling
weight can be a depressing and frustrating experience since most diets produce
only temporary results. That is why I am making this call to action to
all Americans to take control of their weight and I'm pleased to be the spokesperson
for the Mission ControlSM Meridia© program.
Mission Control Meridia is a weight control initiative that I strongly believe
in. While I may be an actor on a hit television series, I have faced the same
struggles as so many others who are overweight. But now that I am constantly
in the public eye, my weight is more of an issue to me now than ever before.
As an actor, it is difficult to avoid food temptations because I do not keep
normal working hours and typically eat my meals on the run. Maintaining a healthy
lifestyle is an ongoing challenge for me, but I realize how important eating
healthy can be.
I'm joining this call to action to encourage Americans to take control
of their weight and ensure that all Americans understand that the Mission Control
Meridia program makes it easy to take that first step toward a better, healthier
tomorrow. I urge you to consult with your physician and find how you can lose
weight in a healthy and effective way - and keep the weight off.
