Menopause Guidebook Available from NAMS
The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) is the leading nonprofit scientific
organization dedicated to promoting the understanding of menopause. NAMS has
published a comprehensive, consumer-oriented guidebook to help women learn more
about the physical and emotional changes that accompany menopause, as well as
the later-life health issues that may be related to menopause. "NAMS recognizes
that menopause is a complex event in a woman's life, one not easily explained
solely by the effects of changing hormone levels," said NAMS Executive
Director Wulf H. Utian, MD, PhD. "There is much more to be learned in this
area, and new information appears daily. We hope this guidebook will assist
women at midlife and beyond to make informed decisions about their health."
This 60 page guidebook reviews a broad range of topics related to menopause
including perimenopausal changes, hot flashes, birth control, premature menopause,
and treatment options. It also examines such postmenopausal health concerns
as heart disease, osteoporosis, and cancer. To order, click
