Trans-vaginal Tape
Q: As you suggested, I finally went to see a doctor even though I was embarrassed
to tell him about my problem. When I have sex, a lot of urine comes out. What
can I do? I'm so frustrated. This doctor said he thinks he can help me by giving
me collagen implants. What do you think about that? Please help me!!!!! I'm
55 years old, and this is ruining my sex life.
Thanks.

Dr. Donnica: Do you only leak urine during sex and not at any other
time? Did the doctor tell you which type of incontinence you have? If you have
stress urinary incontinence, collagen implants may be helpful, but you may want
to consider a minimally invasive surgical procedure called TVT (trans-vaginal
tape). For more information on this procedure, click
here. For a list of doctors who perform this procedure in your area, click
here. This procedure has an 85% (and above) success rate in treating this
condition, takes only 30 minutes, and shows immediate results.
