Prempro and a Doctor's Opinion
Q: I have been on Prempro for over 10 years and am feeling
great, but now the latest findings put me in a quandary. Any suggestions? I
do have a Pap coming up and will discuss with my doctor but all the time knowing
the answers will only be his opinion. Help!!!

Dr. Donnica: I understand your frustration, but please give your
doctor a little more credit! If I gave you my recommendation, my
answer would "only" be my opinion. Your doctor's recommendation
will be his opinion based on your relationship with him, your physical exam,
your personal and family history, the results of all your lab studies to date,
and your various risk factors. The important thing is that you have an
appointment to see your doctor, to review all of these factors, and to discuss
the issue. The decision will be yours. The good news is that you
sound like you're feeling and doing great and that this decision is never final
-- you can always make changes as needed.
